FlexJobs is thrilled to announce its ninth annual Top 100 Companies to Watch for Remote Jobs list!
Since 2014, we’ve tracked and analyzed remote job postings to help job seekers connect with companies that provide remote career opportunities and lead the way for a more flexible future at work.
Though the pandemic has continued to disrupt the workplace, it’s had a positive impact on the growth of remote work! It’s estimated that in 2019, 5.7 million workers (approximately 4.1% of the workforce) worked from home at least part-time. But by the middle of 2020, as many as one-quarter of the workforce worked remotely, with as much as 20% of the workforce predicted to work from home once the pandemic ends.
What’s more, employers discovered that not only do employees want to keep working from home at least some of the time, staff are often more productive when they work remotely. Seeing the benefits to the bottom line, more companies are switching to long-term or permanent remote work, making it easier than ever to connect with flexible employers.
Notable Trends
A FlexJobs survey found that 65% of respondents want to remain full-time remote workers, while 58% said they would search for a new job if they can’t continue working from home post-pandemic. And employers are taking note. Between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021, the number of remote job postings in the FlexJobs database increased 12% over 2020.
Interestingly, not only did the number of remote job postings increase, the variety of job titles and experience levels also increased. While many of the postings were for managers or experienced staff, at least 20% were for entry-level and director-level positions.
BroadPath earned the number one spot on this year’s list, with companies such as Varsity Tutors and Working Solutions in the top 10. Newcomers include HubSpot, Mayo Clinic, and Stitch Fix, while companies like Amazon, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Wells Fargo make repeat appearances.
