April 27, 2022 Fime and National Instruments (NI) have confirmed an exclusive, long-term contactless testing collaboration. The companies will combine their core expertise to offer the best possible contactless test bench solutions to the industry. NI continues to deliver its unique engineering and hardware manufacturing capabilities. Fime’s testing experts will develop new test suites and software features. Fime will also leverage its global presence to exclusively distribute the solutions.

Contactless device manufacturers, component makers, and testing laboratories, can immediately develop and launch innovative payments and smart mobility products in line with the latest industry requirements.

“EMV® contactless payment and mobile transit ticketing are going from strength to strength as a result of the covid crisis. Our team will pour its implementation and development expertise into the software to enable the innovations of the future. This deal builds on a longstanding relationship to ensure reliable and interoperable contactless solutions can come to market quickly and cost effectively,” comments Lionel Grosclaude, Fime CEO. “It is key for us to count on NI as a strong ally to mitigate challenges, such as the one currently caused by chip shortages and supply chain issues.”

“Contactless transaction technologies enable many aspects of our daily life,” adds Darcy Dement, Senior Director, Platform Strategy at NI. “Our test tools and software platform are used across the payments ecosystem and are supporting new innovations like smart mobility. Fime has a strong reputation, expertise, global reach, and vision needed to build on this success. We look forward to collaborating to provide the exceptional service customers expect.”
